Now this bike is tight.
« on: February 13, 2007, 06:33:10 PM »
My very first street bike in 1988, when I was 17, was a sport bike - 1986 Kawa Ninja 600R in red, white, and blue.

Anyway, I have always had an affinity for the race replicas and "plastic" bikes.  I have owned 11 of them in total since 1988.  I would usually grow tired of the bike and lust for another within a year or two.

I still lust for another sport bike and if I won the lottery, this would be it.  I am a freak for design, and this bike rocks my socks.  All MV Agusta bikes do.  http://www.mvagustausa.com/web-mvagusta/07_F4_CC.html

We have a 109 based in our area, and some 119s further out and lower down.

I think the Durango-based crew that went down about 2 years ago (?) was in one.

Sparty - there's something about those 4 pipes under the seat that really get your juices flowing - if you haven't heard one I suggest you try and find one a play with the throttle a bit - really quick revving and oh that noise................
I know a bloke who's got 4 of them - not pipes - whole bikes!! Fair dinkum!

The Guggenheim owns one for a reason Sparty ;D

A good friend of mine had a 'cooking' '05 F4, yes they might look damned good on paper, but in the flesh 'f**king stunning' doesn't even get close 8) and they ride OK too, which is a bonus ;)
As Peter says the noise they make is something else too ;D ;D  No CB I've ever heard comes close, not even the race bikes. For some reason, only the Italians (be it MV, Ducati, Ferarri, Alfa, or even Fiat when they feel like it) can make a four stroke engine sing Opera 8)

On the not so good front, my mate's F4 had a habit of chewing it's rear wheel bearings, and getting new ones out of MV could take anything up to three months:eek: Still he sold it for more than he paid for it after over 18 months of hard use :)
Education: Elitist activity. Cost ineffective. Unpopular with Grey Suits. Now largely replaced by Training."

Here are some MV Agusta sound files.  It is not the F4, but these bikes scream.

As to the bike, I reckon I'd buy a Ferrari if I had that much money :)
Ok, it would be a tough decision and one I'll never face ;) :) :)

My company owns one POS Augusta 109 that technicians DREAD working on.  It is very unfriendly to maintainers.  I'll stick with my BK.   ;)

Personally, I don't like the idea of working/flying in one; but that's based on anecdotal impression.  When I looked at accident data it compared reasonably to other rotor-wing aircraft in similar situations.  It does have decent work space inside, and I guess the price is right.

Yeah, but you work on the ground, eh?  I work in flight, so I sometimes think about these things...
