Soak in water tank decals
« on: August 19, 2020, 02:12:21 AM »
Intend to re-paint a 750 fuel tank in the near future.
Was hoping to get a recommendation of where to purchase the decals for the tank that are the sort you soak in water rather than the ones where you just peel off the backing paper and  stick them on.
Any tips on applying the decals prior to clear coating over them would be a bonus.
Will be using acrylic lacquer.

Hi Moe Toe,
I'm not sure if this will be of use to you, as I'm not sure why you want those type of graphics. If it's for ease of application, I too had misgivings about the stick-on type. All I did was have a signwriter apply them for me. $30, job done and no worries about stuffing them up or getting bubbles in them. Got mine from AFE Graphics, very pleased. Painted tank myself, clearcoated after decals applied. I don't think paint had been buffed when this was taken, so looks better now.
Good grammar: The difference between knowing your #$%* and knowing you're #$%*

+1 for AFE Graphics! He lives up the road from me. I’ve been in his shop and he does fabulous work. Super thin material, that lays down beautifully. Just super!
