350F mysterious oil leak
« on: June 26, 2020, 04:57:24 PM »

well, it's a mystery to me.

The attached pictures show the oil leak after sitting overnight on the side stand.  The engine was never started or ran but oil accumulates on the fins on #1 when parked on the side stand.

Where do I look for the leak?

regards
Ron

It’s probably oil traveling down the long cylinder studs going up to your header. Was there a recent engine rebuild? Did you get a washer (i think they’re copper washers) on the end of that stud?

Agree wrong washers/nuts on studs
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

thanks for the response,  12 new copper washers under the stud nuts fixed the problem,  luckily David Silver had them in stock
