Just added 72 750 to my stable
« on: August 31, 2020, 03:27:18 PM »
Been searching for a earlier 750 to add to the 1.7k miles 77 CB400F in my little collection (mostly BMW airheads).

Bought a true unicorn today.  A one owner 72 CB750.  Title dated 4/72.  7.2k miles.  Shipping it from WI to SC.  Been in storage since 74.  Original owner laid it down in 73 (cosmetic damage only) and never rode it again.  Stored properly and the tank inside is just like new.  Most of the reconditioning work to get it ready to ride has already been done, including a top end reseal to correct a head gasket leak. Will make a great rider.  Need to check carb synch/ignition/charging and that’s about it.  Paid $6.5k.

Got the documentaion gold mine on this one.  Original title dated 4/72 with sellers name, original bill of sale from the dealership with sellers name, warranty card with sellers name, all model consumer information pamphlet and a like new owners manual.  Owners manual looks like it’s never been opened.

Wow, what an eye-poppin' K2! Mine [once] looked like that. :D
Best of the breed, IMHO (uh-oh...). :)

That looks to be a sweet K2 you found, the gold standard. A buddy from high school had a 72 in gold that I rode with back in 72 and continue to ride with him occasionally.
And yes, it'll go great with your 400F, which in itself is a fun lightweight ride.

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!
