Desert, my original was designed to be used with a different gas tank and seat.  The tank is a good 4 or 5 inches longer than a stock k0-k6 tank.  My above post was a call out for interest in information, not parts.  None of this original stuff is easily available.  You do realize custom aftermarket parts have been available for the cb750 nearly from the get go?  I think the stuff I have was originally purchased in '71 or '72 and was used on a k0

If the longer tank doesn't make you sit a good 6 inches further back, your knees will still hit the two lower lips/wing tips from the Titan. I am new to the CB750s and still learning everything as I move along. I prefer to buy existing parts(new or used) but a lot of the fairings available were made for some other make/models and adapted for use on the CB750. But prices for good vintage used fairings are very high, and one still needs to refurbish and adapt it for use on the CB750s. Especially for those who are not looking for the crouch down tank hugging sitting position with rearsets. I figured I am better off custom making one to fit it the way I like it. I am using the fairing mainly for a more comfortable highway ride, not having to fight the wind.

Here's a pic of the Titan fairing on the CB750 (borrowed from forum). There is no escaping your knees or thighs.

Desert, very cool that you created something that works for your ergonomics.  It's a beautiful bike.
If it works good, it looks good...

Wow love the fairing and the low profile looks really good. What is the fairing and how did you mount it?
Thanks
Andy

Thanks, Andy. The fairing is a handmade copy of the Titan fairing with some minor changes. Everything is handmade so it is not exactly symetrical  :-[ But that is the way I preferred for the Valley Green K1. I have a complete set of new Airtech fairing and bracket so I copied their idea piece some hardware together for the bracket. It is mounted to the gas tank tabs on the frame with eye to eye turnbuckle. I will be having a friend welding together a more permanent bracket once I am satisfied with the position and angle.
I will have a more symetrical unit made for my JDM Candy Ruby Red K1 on the next run based on what I learned from this one.

Btw the complete Airtech fairing kit is still available for sale here - http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,183698.msg2126537.html#msg2126537

This is great info thank you very much. I especially appreciated the comments about knees hitting the fairing - I am 6`4 so make the CB750 look a little small and I have wondered before if my knees would be an issue with a fairing like this. Looking forward to seeing the fairing for the Red K1. Id be interested in a custom fairing for my K2 if you do build more than one.

At 6' 4" your knees are probably at or past the H of the Honda letters on the gas tank. On the Valley Green bike, the fairing is mounted all the way in. The mount is adjustable with a max 2.5". I think anything longer is going to make the gap between the head tube and fairing too big. That should be right about between H and O.

Getting the fairing done for you is not a problem. Just need to get the changes on the bracket finalized. I can pm you with the info

The Don Vesco fairing often would Mount a set of mirrors on the fairing itself. Several of the Windjammer designs by Honda did this on the GoldWing as well. The mirrors you would use are going to be automotive mirrors and several of them are going to have a coated optics/mirror to reduce glare. I cannot think of the Italian brand of mirrors I used on my '66 Volvo 122S 2 door. They were a good design and had an aerodynamic design. The body was plastic and it accepted paint well.

The genuine Napoleon mirrors are excellent quality. Their Bar end mirrors are also another good option.

David- back in the desert SW!

It is a small world and I got to meet up with Tom aka @gpzkat yesterday. Picked up a bunch of parts cheap from him for my free K4 that I was given a few days ago. I barely managed to not drool on his turbo GS1100e  ;D

Ironically, there is a guy in my neighborhood with a Vespa exactly like in your picture. I lost count after 37 mirrors....

I bought 4 because shipping via DHL is $$$ and I have 2 bikes that are going to use bar end mirrors. Plus it was on sale for $27 a piece

Finally have a chance to take Ella the Green Hornet out for a ride since completing the project. The repop Jota handlebar definitely makes the handling quicker, good enough all-around improvement for me to overlook the inconsistent quality control.

Hey, you got some Laverda on your bike, great taste. I went up to the Peterson when they had the Italian bike exhibit, OMG.  Laverda, SFC, Ducati 750SS MV Agusta, Guzzi etc. Drool.  That 70's and 80's style was special, yours captures well and looks about as good as any CB I've seen - just right and well done.
