I was wondering if I can swap triple tree from a 650 nighthawk to a 550 nighthawk? I want to use the cluster from the 650 on the 550.

First post huh, I'll bite.

The short answer is that the 83 CB550SC had 37mm forks while the 83-85 CB650SC had 39mm forks.

You may need to swap more than just the top triple to be able to bolt on the 650 cluster.

Or you can make a bracket to adapt the 650 cluster to the 550 top triple.

Or you can modify the 550 top triple to allow direct mounting of the cluster without an adaptor.
