Kibblewhite swingarm bushings - machining?
« on: December 27, 2020, 07:05:42 PM »

Swingarm bushings on my K7 rebuild were completely history - looks like the shaft was not lubricated in 47 years. I have a nos shaft which will get modified per the Hondaman instructions but the Kibblewhite bronze bushings are - according to Kibblewhite - manufactured to a diameter which is smaller than the shaft so they can be honed to fit after installation in the swingarm. All seems very reasonable and exact - my question (finally) is how have others gone about honing the id of the bushings after installation? I'm not sure of what tooling or technique beyond finding a machine shop...thanks.

Buy a cheap expanding reamer ... KBC tools has them. Turn it with a tap wrench..
You cansteer a reamed .. but you can't steer a hone..
