Advice best full carb rebuild kit 76’ CB750F
« on: January 18, 2021, 01:48:04 PM »
I’m looking for advice/recommendations on the best OEM Carb rebuild kit for a 76’ CB750F.

It’s my first build so any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks I’m advance.

You don't need a rebuild kit.  All you probably need is 4 o-rings for fuel tees and maybe drain screw o-rings.  Everything else just needs to be cleaned and re-used.  If parts have been damaged by prior (or current) hamfists use Honda oem ONLY!  I have over-hauled dozens of these carbs needing nothing but the aforementioned o-rings.

+1 to what Sean said and save your money. I have recently done 3 extremely dirty and gummy sets of 750 round top carbs on some project bikes and the only thing I replaced were those o-rings he mentioned.Have done many others in the past also. I don't even pick out/remove the bowl gaskets before I soak them in carb dunk and then finish off in a sonic because I don't want to damage or disturb them. Some rubber aftermarket bowl gaskets are junk also. These are very easy carbs to do with minimal parts. Hopefully the stuff that is in them now is stock and original and have not been 'rebuilt' in the past. Stock stuff will be marked and easy to recognize.

Thanks Sean!  Much appreciated.
This is a “garage find” and was last on the road in ‘86... with no precautions taken in parking it (if that changes advice?
Everything was pretty gummed up, corroded, dried up, etc... hence my thought of rebuilding.

I see a lot of “let’s” to rebuild, but really don’t know the best to use.
These are really the first pieces I’m replacing now that I’ve got it totally torn down.... my first time so I’m sure to ask more ignorant questions.

Thanks again!

Thanks @ekpent!
Also much appreciated.
So the deep cleaning begins.
And yes, all original... never been touched.

Chances of you getting the specific -392 jet needles and needle jets for YOUR carbs are real iffy. Most kits you'll find have all -300 parts, most of which will be correct if the new jet sizes are correct
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

The size of o ring for the fuel T's is 8mm ID X 2mm cross section (thickness). Honda lists this o ring as 7.8 x 1.9

For the float bowl drain screw o ring its 4.7 mm ID X 1.6 cross section (thickness).
