Topic: CB750 serial #s

Hello, It's been a long time since I've been on this board, basically since I sold the CB550 about 3 years ago. I recently acquired a CB750F and it finally arrived. I'm a little confused/concerned about the frame and engine #s and hoping someone could shed some light.

I've checked http://www.hondachopper.com/engine/engine_mods/modifications.html, https://www.vintagecb750.com/model-guide-cb750, and http://www.sohc4.com/cb750/cb750f/ but can't seem to locate the engine # to verify that it's a Super Sport.

The frame # is CB750F-2018747 &
The engine # is CB750E-2538601

Obviously a 1976 CB750F1. No question on either number.

Super Sport engines 1975 and 1976 start at CB750E-2500001 and continue up to something like CB750E-2554000. 75's went to 2515054

1975 CB750 frames start with CB750F-1xxxxx while 76 start with CB750F-2xxxxx

I've had a few differences of opinions vs HondaChopper.com about the F's and their numbers.
