Bullet connecters
« on: April 29, 2021, 09:47:53 AM »
Here is my first question, post, and I'm sure you must have come across it before, it's about bullet connecters, I've included a picture of the problem connecter, Pic 1,  it's 1 wire in with 4 connections off. My problem is the bullets drop out, too slack, I did nip the connecter but it must be cracked because nipping it with the pliers makes no difference, pic 2 is all I can find and pic 3 is how big they are along side the original, my problem is I don't want to cut the bullets off and using what I have found means the bullets have to go as the new connecters are just push fit and I'm trying to keep the bike standard, has anyone else had this problem with the old connecters, I did try a breakers to cut off the connecter from an old wiring loom but they laughed and told me to buy a new bike. Sorry I've tried to put the pictures up but every time I do it clears the form.

Make sure the pics you're trying to attach are under the size limit. (4mb each)

As for the connectors, if you get to the point where you decide to replace them, this is a good source: http://vintageconnections.com/

I purchased a kit with the crimper and have used it on multiple bikes.

IMHO, there's much more value in a good, reliable aftermarket connection than in an original one that no longer works properly/reliably.

Cheers

I'm going to invest in a good crimper, but it's finding the right connecter to save cutting the bullets off and I tried to find a treble bullet connecter but failed there too.

There isn't a connecter among them what would do, 1 feed in, 4 going out.

You're right. It's an insurmountable problem.

Good luck.

It was a bit of a problem but I found away around it, there a 3 of these connectors in the headlight pic 1 and picture 2 is 2 doubles what I soldered together before fitting worked a treat with some shrink wrap
