‘78 750A can’t keep it running.
« on: March 27, 2021, 07:07:46 PM »
Hey guys, been working on restoring a ‘78 that lived outside under a tarp for 22 years. I have rebuilt and redone almost everything on the bike. Carbs are pristine, timing is spot on and bike will start by spraying gas in the carbs but will not run. Could it be it be intake boots? I did not replace them yet and they are harder than I like. I’m really getting tired of this project as it has fought me every step of the way and I’m right at the finish line and hate to give up.

Photo has no air box with filter.
No filter/less restrictive filters need richer jets.

I’ve got fuel to the bowls. I actually had it idling them pulled the carbs back off to check a setting and when I put them back on I could t get it to start after that. I figured moving those boots may have caused that. I can actually move them with the clamps tight so that’s why I suspected them.

Good boots are a necessity to get proper vacuum flow/draw.
