gauge covers
« on: July 21, 2021, 07:56:25 AM »
This may be a bit vain, but has anyone seen any gauge covers that would shield the gauges from the sun as the bike is parked in a parking lot?  My gauges are pretty much NOS and original so I want to keep them from fading.

Maybe a shower cap snapped over them?

yeah the shower caps the way to go.
when I would go to car meets in cali, all the guys had those reservoir cloth covers that are about the same size as the gauges.
you could check an aftermarket honda site and see what sizes they have, and they would say honda on them.

Care full whatou use. A plastic or rubber cover can generate extreme temperatures in direct sunlight. That heat will damage and fade them even more quickly.....

When I’m out for a few day trip, I use a small cover that stretches over the handle bars and seat. Keeps direct sunlight and rain off the seat too. It’s small and light and was made for a “medium sized sport bike”. Picked it up years ago, at a local bike shop.

Yup! Just like that. Fits snugly around the headlight/ mirrors and bars and just stretches around the rear seat, turnsignals. Very useful.

Which size fits a CB750?

I'd guess Large, what do you have?

I went with a cheap shower cap, only used it twice.  I try not to drive it anywhere where it will be parked for a long time, but that gets limited fast.

How about using a couple of those black Covid masks.  No one's going to touch those gauges.
