Redkote or Caswell will work fine, just tape up all of the holes first.
This is true, or POR15. If you send photos of the tank maybe folks can chime in as to whether or not its salvageable.
I’d do everything in my power to avoid a tank liner, unless you can easily get gas that is ethanol free. It seems to be a roll of the dice now.
On an Indian repop tank side note - I got a repop triumph tank for a project and they are ROUGH haha.
If the cb tanks are made to the same quality and style I’d avoid it unless your up for some serious work. Maybe painted stuff is better. My tank was raw.
This is why a photo would be good. Shot how? Rusted out interior? Banged up? Full of pinholes? I've used POR15 and Redkote with no problems, for years, but you're right -- if the inside is decent better to not have to use them.
As for repops, it was hypothetical -- nobody is making a repop CB350F tank.
Ahh got it! — and plus one on the photos!
I’ve used a few of them in the past with no issues(we used to get the local radiator repair man to coat them, but he is no longer in business) but over the last few years I’ve heard quite a few incidents of failure. All blamed on ethanol. I believe most of them state they are no good for gas with ethanol. Most reports were failure after a year or two.
Fresh painted tank with a failed liner…what dreams are made of haha.
