Shipping US->EU of HM341 exhaust
« on: December 05, 2021, 08:24:12 AM »
There is a guy from US offering a set of moderately rusty original CB750K HM341 4-4 exhaust.
Shipping dimensions are 54”x24”x14” and it would be 35lbs.
Any advice what would be a reasonably priced carrier? Any experience? From first inquiry USPS Seem to charge 1500$….   :-X

I would look into DHL, if it's available in the both of your locations.

I bought a set from CMSNL, shipped to the us, I don't think they charged the full amount but don't have the receipt handy.

If you can buy a new set from CMSNL Netherlands shipping will be much lower.

Then you have https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/
Their max shipping cost was £20 before. Outside EU so customs  will be added.

CMSNL say they have lowered shipping costs.

I've been monitoring 4-4's unless someone listed some this weekend there aren't any. Busso was making noises about a run of Honda pipes but they aren't good about sharing information.

Whichever carrier you use, don't forget that UK import tax charges are calculated based on the total price including shipping.

Buy now, they have in stock. !!!! ;D
Hopefully the better no numbers since I searched on K1. Much better than HM341.
They look right, HM341 had a strange dent in pipe beside brake pedal.

Put a banana in each pipe if you need same flow as HM341 ;D ;D

https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CB750K1-FOUR-1971/part_217723/

You need the heat shields and mounting set too. Plus long bolts, clamps snd maybe spigots too.
But all the extra slways available. Pipes the vital stuff!!

These also have the 'dent' to clear the brake pedal, which is the reason it's there.

I take it that as HM340's that they do not have any baffles, apart from the removable end one?

Strange, I thought HM300 style since it was to a 71.
Maybe the restrictive HM341 then? A photo of the rear with diffuser/baffle beside should clarify.

You are right, I meant HM300's but somehow generated another model by putting a 4 instead of a 0. My mistake.

HM300  removable baffle is smaller,  baffles inside pipe.
Lotus roots, removable baffle is larger, no baffle inside pipe.

Are the DS and Yamiya HM300's both made buy the same company and are the DS ones likely to be imported Yamiya ones?

Can't see that there would be two separate companies making the exhausts? Yamiya always have good reports as to their quality and fit and finish of their products do DS have the same reputation for their parts?

Lotus Root pipes are very hollow inside ;)
Not much in there ;D

Here photos of my Yamiya No numbers and Lotus Root also from Yamiya when new.
Diffusers compared. The No numbers have also padding around that I have removed. Search for HM300 diffusers on eBay or where ver they are sold and you will see.
Lotus Root model look like bombs (with same look when mounted) ;D
