Decal location
« on: December 14, 2021, 11:22:56 AM »
I recently saw this on a "restored" 1971 CB 750 K1. Is this correct or should the "don't f--k with the exhaust" warning be on the right arm of the swingarm?

What was the decal that was on the chain guard?  I seem to remember my '76K having a decal on the chain guard.  I could be mistaken after 46 years though.

Good question. I too have a foggy recollection of a decal on the chain guard of a CB 750.

My recollection is also that the 76 CB750 had that decal on the Chain guard.

The only photo I have of the chain guard when I first got the K6 is this...like my paint booth?

according to the cms parts diagram/list, there wasn't a decal on the swingarm or chain guard for the K1.
I'd prefer an original honda parts edition for absolute accuracy, to start with if I was doing an accurate restoration.

The decals were different in different countries?
Chain guard on K6 had the tire pressure decal?

It would be fine with photos on all models, which decals and where.

are you asking me?....or just asking. I wouldn't have any off hand knowledge of overseas bikes, much less 750's. I would have to do research, like what I just did.
CMS is a great go to but an official honda parts book, starting with a first edition, would be about as authentic a start as anything else to begin a 100% restoration.
I know honda made all kinds of part changes...superceeded, I believe it's called........USA distributed 750's had the frame data plate on the frame neck. From a thread on here, someone pointed out that this data plate on european models was on another frame part around the battery. It might have been a 550, can't remember, but point made.
"restored " bikes are not the best go to for authentic information......too much anecdotal, opinions and feelings out there that get labeled as authentic..
The parts fiche showed two possible decals on the chain guard for the K6.....one is the tire mark, which starting with the K2 was on the rear fender. Don't know what the other one is....
"341" center code is K2....
