Did a routine oil change with filter on my 1978 CB750 Super Sport today. I've owned the bike for almost five years, and have done this job before (twice a year, new oil filter every other change). Today, it was less than routine. For anyone who has ever done this job, they know it requires either 3 hands or more than 10 fingers. Apparently I did not have the backing plate squarely against the engine when I tightened up the 12 mm bolt. Bottom line, I pumped about a quart of my precious 20-50 BelRay Mineral oil on the floor. The stick was full up when I started. My question is; Did I do anything negative to my engine? I obviously stopped the engine immediately upon noticing the problem and it didn't run completely dry. I have no noises or smoke. Doubt I did anything, but thought I'd ask others. Thanks for any response.
