Norelco G370 is junk
« on: March 03, 2007, 07:37:18 PM »
I bought one of these things tonight, because the old T-1000 went way dull.  >:(

This G370 is COMPLETE JUNK. I was quoted as "This thing could not shave a KITTY"! You know what I mean. No one attachment worked like they should.

I figured I would give you a heads up before you waste the money needed for parts and gas on this POS. It is in original non functional condition only because the wife stopped me from smashing it to bits.

I had to resort to naked face  >:( Not happy

bought the bits for my old Maverick shaver. ;D The old t-1000 was the shyte. no stupid bits, just a quick twist and your are ready to go.

From what I have read using the nose hair trimmer will render pain like you have never known before.  :o

Thanks for the heads up Tom, as luck would have it, gravity took over today and my Braun fell to the tile floor and ended up as twice as many pieces as they put into it, lol :o

Now what do I do? I love battery shavers because I seem to have bad luck with corded ones, even if the cord is just to charge the damn thing. Last time I didn't see that the wire had become seperated and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Yeah, real curly hair for a while.

You guys know me, for me this is a tool. This is like the epilady for guys. Now we know they are EVIL. :o

This was the equivalent of the difference of a metal devil blade (cuts in seconds flat) and using an abrasive blade (takes forever) to cut metal. I am a next to no attachments guy as I am as organized as a squirrel.  ;D I think the tool should do the job the way it is and no stupid bits to keep organized.

I liked the Maverick T-1000 because if I needed different lengths, it was just a twist if the barrel and away I go.  ;D No BS to keep track of. And it kept up with my abuse until I dulled the blades, which are on order.

I stuck that g370 at the moutain man beard it was more like waxing  ::) :o Cuts beards like a butter knife cuts metal.

No one attachment worked like it was supposed to. I then read some reviews. Let's say that the nose hair attachment will introduce you to a new level of pain that you did not know before  :o . I AM NOT BRAVE ENOUGH TO TRY IT.

The part that pissed me off more than anything is that I have shaved the face naked, Not something I am fond of. I could get carded for bubble gum without the beard.  ;)

IMO, you can't go wrong with anything made by Wahl.  I have a Wahl electric clipper that I've used on my head and beard for the last 15 years, and it's still in almost new condition today with no servicing except for oiling the blades occasionally.  I also bought a cordless beard/ moustache trimmer from them a couple of years ago that works great and has the single, attached adjustable guard.

I'm so manly I shave my beard with a semi sharpened rock, if I 'm in a hurry I'll switch over to my Buck knife.

My old Wahl just won't stop.  I guess I just got used to the cord because I don't really notice it- even when I'm cutting my own hair.
This guy helps keep my Indian running in exchange for free haircuts/beard trims.  I think I'm his only sponsor...  ::)

edit; after looking at the paint job, maybe you and he have a lot in common ?!

There you go have the old KBAR  :o , Cheapo... you still have your USMC-issue Ka-Bar? ;) ;D

Actually I do have the old KABAR (and yes it could be shaved with) , and I have my old BANNED bayonet from my weapon. ;) ;D

I have bought some new blades for the old Maverick t-1000, but I think I will have to get organized and buy a wahl. This beard of mine is a tricky bugger and easy to get crooked. Maybe I could just use the dog trimmer  ;D... ::)

Thass right mate, "Ka-Bars" for shaving? Buncha poofs, I reckon! I always rub a little lighter fluid into the ol' scalp and face and hit it with my USMC Zippo lighter, not only does it keep my hair "regulation", but it adds to my manly tan, ha ha! Cheers, "He Man" Terry.  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Yeah, but they don't mind mate, they've only recently arrived from Vietnam, and apparently the smells emanating from my garage remind them of cooking aroma's from "The old country"? They have some pretty funny smells coming from their place too, I don't know what they're eating, but it's certainly got an aroma of it's own...................

They're very nice though, they must have heard about my ol' pooch running off just after they moved in, and felt sorry for me, cos they brought around some really nice BBQ'd meat yesterday, I've never had it before, I asked them what it was, but they're English isn't too good, I think they call it "Sal-li" ?

Never heard of it myself, and couldn't find a reference to it on Google, but it tasted ok, and it was a nice gesture for sure. I asked them to keep a look out for my dog Sally, but once again, they can't speak Englissh all that well and kept trying to give me more of that BBQ'd meat? Oh well, it's just nice to have nice neighbors, for sure! Cheers, Terry. ;D

I was blessed (and cursed) with a babyface.  Must be that 1/64th Native American Cherokee I have in me.

I shave once every 2 weeks to get the quarter inch scraggle off my face  ;D

Terry, I lived in San Francisco when Viet Namese were being relocated to the area.  (Can't remember the year, but it was around the time Mt St Helens erupted.) Very poor job as they just shoved food stamps in their hands and patted them on the butt.  They had no clue what to do with the coloured peices of paper, but when they discovered Golden Gate Park, they thought they lived in heaven.  Park Rangers began to realize that certain rare plant species were disappearing, surrounding neighborhoods were reporting more pets missing, plus the duck and geese populations seemed to be thinning.  Took a while for a light bulb to get turned on at Social Services.
