If every gauge bracket wasn't bent and then fixed by the PO stacking washers and making the gauge crooked in its chrome housing?

If every rhino horn mount didn't have one or the other side broken?

If people could figure out how to put the tool kit back in its place after they use it. Of all the used bikes we have bought only one had a complete tool kit. A couple had the bag with 1 or 2 tools in it and the rest it was just gone.

+1 on that, plus buying a bike that has a clear, signed title from the owner.  ;)

We don't buy bikes without a title. It's just not worth it.

Wouldn't it have been nice- if the nearly complete K0 I found for $1000 had its papers. I still had to buy it even if I parted it out. I didn't, it's now "the Nugget"

...if the engine(s) that came to me for rebuild-
- had all their parts inside?
- didn't have high-water marks on (or inside) them?
- didn't have a chain crashed thru their cases, then 'fixed' with JB Weld?

Wouldn't if be nice if I didn't have one of those?  ::)

Wouldn't it be nice if someone made new OEM pipes for my CJ360 and my CL350?

Lucky you! In my experience, 3/4 of the frames are missing some paint. Mostly the seat area, underside of cross braces. Certainly no primer either......

well sure!...but I don't think Honda was the one to blame here.  These are 40-50 year old bikes that mostly were not cared for.  Seems like Honda did quite a good job of painting the frames from what I have seen.

In fact, gonna have to say...wouldn't it be nice if Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha had done as nice a job as Honda painting their frames! :D

If Honda would restart the production of some essential parts for rebuilding the motor of the CB650 rather than making it a complete "red-headed step child"
That exhausts for the cb550 be available again without requiring a new mortgage or a bank robbery?

Had one of those, a 77. Was hard finding pipes and pistons for it. Eventually sold it to a bloke in New Zealand when I upgraded to a FJ1200.

Southern AZ is as nice as I have come to it...if you don't mind riding very early in day in summer and at night in Summer. Then winter can get cold at night in the desert...so you dress for the ride and heated gear and/or a snowmobile suit or Aerostich suit would be the ticket to riding in winter without layering up for the wind chill.

There is this place that has really nice weather almost year round but there are other details about this place that make me only want to visit and never live there...it is west of my location if that is any clue.

What I figured out on one,
Apparently, the threads for stud holding the shifter ratchet were stripped out and heli coiled. Then it was under tightened so it wiggled around and the threads wore out. Every time I tried to kick start it (Kick only race engine) it would jump into gear.  Then I tried to helicoil it and the drill bit stuck every time before I got a good light and saw the helicoil already in there. Red locktite and real tight and it works fine.

This, but also for the 350Fs (which I think are worse).

Sometimes removing the fasteners holding the airbox can make the job a touch easier.plastic tools used on door panels or blunt end of chopsticks works well on helping manipulate the rubber some.
Yes, they are a pain to deal with, but at least they are not the super difficult to clean CV carbs if they develop deposits you have to have a good cleaner and a strong ultrasonic machine, commercial model, if carb cleaner or Berry man's soak doesn't break up and blockages or restrictions. CV carbs are truly a pain in the butt to deal with...we can thank the EPA and need for leaner burning motors...

Agreed on the 500 carbs. The one I did also has a sidecar hooked to it so that side is harder to reach too. I told him to ride it to my house and I'd put the air box back on where it wasn't gravel. 2 years ago. Still not on and I'm sure the carbs are crap again.
