Before removing the top mounting eye, I fully collapsed the shaft and engaged the internal adjuster. These were set at full soft (counter clockwise). They have about 2.25 turns of rebound adjustment (clockwise to full hard). At full hard, they’re almost impossible to extend! I set them both to mid point.
These have absolutely no signs of any leakage, and show very little wear. Shafts are perfect and the paint on the springs looks like new. Polished one up and used the strap to reassemble. Hint: stack all the washers and bump stop on, then lock the top eye in place BEFORE compressing the spring and installing the top steel washer and alloy spring perch. I forgot and it’s impossible to really pull up on the jam nut with the spring in the way….
Took it apart and did it right.
