My first 75 Cb400f
« on: May 13, 2022, 06:50:38 am »
Hello, I’m new to the forum- thanks for having me.
Recently picked up a 75 CB400F from a engineer who was rebuilding it and his life circumstances changed so he sold me pretty much every part he had to go with the bike.
It’s not pretty and it missing some parts but I’ve been having fun with it.
Any advice is appreciated and also looking for buyers if anyone is looking.
Thanks!

Welcome to the group!
Depending on what parts came with the bike, it looks like you have a lot of work ahead of you.
You will find just about any information you need on this forum or the service manual.

You might have better luck selling it if you told us where it is located.

Thanks for the hint, this is my first forum since the 90s:)
I’m located out in Brooklyn.
Was reading the manual and having a beer last night on the porch.
It’s gonna be fun while it lasts but I wanna get it cleaned up and sold by the end of the month.

That is very ambitious of you.
But I guess that depends on what you consider cleaned up and ready to sell.....

From the looks of it right now, it needs a ton of work to be functional, and safe, to ride.

What size is that rear sprocket?

Welcome aboard from NH. Does it run already?

I’m just getting into the engine now and what I know from the guy I bought it from the bike was used for racing.
Already I find there are no butterfly valves when I got the carbs off…
If anyone would be so kind to lead me to the way of someone who can get me 4, I would surely appreciate it.
The bike is definitely not running but I got a lot of parts with the bike so I’m going to reassemble it as much as I can and see where it lays. Maybe bench start it…
But honestly I want to play with it and see what happens, then sell it. No plans on keeping it long term… at the moment.
