Topic: 1982 CB650SC - Silicon Rectifier Diode/Relay

Has anybody replaced their silicon rectifiers? If so, what did you use? Did you bypass it with something else?

The silicon rectifier in my harness is shot and needs to be replaced. The connector looks like it needs to be replaced as well.

Wondering if it can be bypassed or if a simple 2-pin relay from a parts store can be used.

You cant replace any diode with a relay

To connect it, you could probably just cut the connector off and attach a homemade pigtail with spade connectors and some heat shrink.

Found the part on eBay, the little sucker is smaller than the bad one I replaced. All said, it’s installed and I was able to crank the bike.
