Building a motor for boost. 1973 836
« on: August 15, 2022, 09:13:23 AM »
Hey guys I finally got my hands on a turbo kit so I’m trying to figure out how to reliably run 15+ lbs  I know I need new rods and preferably forged pistons. I was thinking that using 10.25:1 wiseco pistons with a 1978 head, that should put my static compression around 7.5:1. What camshaft should I use? New valve springs? Do I have to upgrade the primary chains?

Let me know your thoughts as I am starting out fresh and want to make this thing sweet. I’m thinking hsr42 for carburetion and of course a fuel pump.

I’ll run a dyna 2000 ignition just need to figure out how to program timing curve for boost.

Have you seen this build?

It is rather long. It has Youtube videos when riding. I was impressed about the power the turbo only can make.

I do not remember which cam, if he finalized with a Norris turbo cam or stock.

Another turbo build, 1026cc

I was told the f2 cam is good on a turbo motor due to the lobe centers. 107*?
