CB750K1 Rear Brake Issue
« on: September 17, 2022, 09:34:23 AM »
My K1 had an extended swing arm( modified K1) from PO that I switched back to a later model stock K4 swing arm. All went well until I was assembling the rear brake linkage. The top of the rear brake pedal spindle arm is hitting the swing arm.
I switched to the stock brake stopper rod so that is correct. The only other part that I can see that is unique to the K1 is the brake rod based on the different part numbers. I'm not sure whether the K1 rod would make that much difference since I should be able to make up for that with adjustment. Not aware of the difference in length between the two rods but I'm assuming its not drastic.
The back lever dimples are lined up. Lining up the pedal dimples puts the lever way too high where it hits the swing arm.
Hoping to get some help before I start buying unneeded parts or modifying the linkage.
Much appreciated!

Cant remeber exact positioning but thr operating arm pedal fits too needs to be fitted before swingarm to get angle correct
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).
