Ellz- from your “stator” the Blu/Red is OIL pressure and Grn/Red is NEU switch. Those are in your stock harness bundle but don’t actually come from the stator.

So as pictured? Blue/Red goes to the bright White wire on the far right? Then the old crusty Green (middle) and what I imagine used to be the color White (left) connect to Green and White respectively?

The REC gets YYY, WHT and GRN.

In these scenarios, solid GRN is a ground.

So here, YYY goes to YYY. Easy, makes sense. Then does that mean that Green goes to Green and then that would leave Red from the REC going to White? Is that correct?

For the REG side of your device, BLK, WHT and GRN go to the Stator.

And then finally the REG. Green goes to ground as you mentioned in these scenarios. Now I've got Black and White - which one goes to Blue/Red and which one goes to Green/Red?

For some reason I had initially thought Black was going to AUX 2, probably because that's how I saw it on the diagram.

Blu/Red and Grn/Red DO NOT connect to any part of your Reg/Rec.

Understood. So the green/red neutral switch and red/blue oil pressure wires get wired into the speedometer gauge?

All the different colored wires for the one thing is severely confusing.

Okay so instead of continuing to ask these questions without proactively looking into how things work, I decided to do what I should've done from the beginning. So I studied the wiring diagram from the book, read several threads and I finally have a bit more understanding.

So here it goes and please correct me if I'm wrong:

From the REC, there's 5 wires - 3 YELLOW, 1 RED, and 1 GREEN

The 3 YELLOW & 1 GREEN go to the STATOR.
The 1 RED goes to the STARTER SOLENOID.

From the REG there are 3 wires - 1 GREEN, 1 WHITE, & 1 BLACK

The 1 GREEN goes to Ground.
The 1 WHITE goes to STATOR.
The 1 BLACK goes to AUX 2.

The 1 bright WHITE wire circled in the photo gets sleeved to the BLUE/RED (OIL PRESSURE) wire which then goes to the main speedometer gauge along with the GREEN/RED (NEUTRAL) wire and they both will get Grounded there.

The only thing that's bothering me is that I feel like I'm missing the link/wiring from the STARTER MOTOR to the STARTER SOLENOID.

******Edit to this last part regarding the starter motor******  I'm still trying to get used to the fact that not all black wires mean ground. After watching a few videos, it's now my understanding that the black wire that comes out of the starter motor is indeed meant to connect to the starter solenoid. Is that accurate?

I have a 78 I'm wiring up but keeping the stock controls.  I want to keep a vintage patina look.  I noticed on the revival wiring diagram the black wire going from the rectifier to the m.unit Aux 2.  Is this for the lithium battery?  I am using the lead acid.and my rectifier has only one black wire coming from it.

We've installed several m-units and from memory they're only an earth trip unit, which is great & simple but not functional with a 3 way switch like required for lights.  Having said that, I know they have released a new version so perhaps this has been rectified.
