Is my side stand mount bent?
« on: January 12, 2023, 02:24:00 PM »
I never checked my side stand mount before powder coating my frame and I'm afraid my frame tab is bent.  Can someone confirm?

It's hard to tell, you can bend the sidestand to suit as long as you make sure it folds properly. sometimes the early bike frames corroded inside and the tube failed, then during the repair it didn't get angled right. At least that's what happened with mine.

Thanks.  My frame is solid.  I just wasn't sure about the mounting tab with the hole for the bolt.  I'm not sure if that's supposed to be like that from the factory of if it is indeed bent from old age.

OK, I see it now. Maybe you could use a large crescent wrench and stay in the wear area where the side stand goes.  They do take a beating.

Lean the bike over on it's right side, then use a Big Crescent wrench to straighten it,done.

How does the bike lean with the stand mounted. Has the po bent the side stand to compensate?
