« on: January 29, 2023, 08:22:33 AM »
Okay, After many attempts, and watching videos, I'll still must be doing something wrong. Any suggestions from anyone who has done this before

I recently did mine about 2 months ago.  Hopefully you took good pictures before you started.

I recommend taking them all out and starting over.

Here is a couple of pics of mine, may help.

Your spacing lots right, just need to rotate the rim and hub to get the angles steeper, which will pull the nipples to the rim.(you have shallow angles compared to denward17 pictures)

Study the dimples and you can see they are angled innie and outie and left and right. That and the rub marks on the hub may give the clues you need. Nearly everybody that laced one has had a false start or two.

I've used a swingarm for a truing stand but later bought a cheap wheel balancer stand off of ebay, it's easy to make it a truing stand also, a threaded bolt, a couple nuts, a vacuum cap for a softener on the end of the pointer and you're in business.
