For what Engine?  Are the engine mounting plates there?  How about the tank, seat and fairing?  Are the Forks Rickman?

CB 750. Everything's there. Some guy died and they were bringing all the stuff to the crusher imagine that.... Told him I'd actually pay for it but now I really don't know what to offer. As it was going to the crusher I think I should start low LOL

They are worth quite a bit.  I have a buddy that should know.  He has had a few Rickmans.  I'll ask him.

My buddy thinks it's worth $2k-$5k, depending on condition, and originality.  One with no corrosion on the nickel plating, all original Rickman stuff and nice paint will be on the high side.

Offer a few $k.

A DOHC with a Rickman frame made $12k at the Mecum auction a couple of weeks ago. If it wasn't Rickman they might have got $2k for it.

Is there a way specifically I'm guessing yes to tell if the frame is Rickman and not just a Rickman fairing kit.

The Rickman frame is visibly different from a stock one and all mountings are tidy and brazed on

The most obvious features of the Rickman frame, besides the nickle plating, are the curved rear footpeg mounts and lack of chain adjusters at the ends of the swingarm. The chain adjustment is done at the swingarm pivot.

If the seller is an old lady who needs cash or a friend, then offer what its worth. Otherwise it isn't your responsibility to educate them about what they have. Offer $500 and take the win. That's what I did with my never used $50 Lester CB750F rear wheel. Last year when dealing with a knowledgeable seller I paid $300 for the matching F2-3 front Lester.
