tried two different ports to see if the amount of the aluminum could be scaled down
with the larger ports it takes more time to cut
while the smaller allows me to just grab with pliers and snap off

thanks cycleranger
with the help of the cad work I should be able to get it just right on the points cover with no overhang and better lines that dont have to be gone over with too much work

using broken parts from honda cb engines I have accumulated around here
tried different types of aluminum from ebay, lowes, beers and soda cans
but i figured I better keep it in the family

seeing if anyone is near Tennessee that I can send a cover for test fitting
figure I better stop here and see if it fits
Ill send the cover and a sharpie and if they can go through the steps:
see if it slides on
see if the bolt holes line up
see if the sides go all the way to the bottom
Ill keep this up for a few days and then post over in wanted thread

got a few measurements out on the wanted section to see if this will fit
the next step is getting that engine over in knoxville
made another to see how the progress is going but the cavities are still there
keep on at it
watching a few more vids for alternatives and going to download a few books for alternatives
saw a cool guy on youtube called olfoundryguy who made these cool motorcycle badges from aluminum for a club
were awesome!
maybe something like that in the future for the sohc forum

decided to work on the last cover made with little bit of cavites between the fins
luckily there is enough meat to grind down in there to clear away most of it

thanks bert

luckily I just sold some more parts so I will be checking in with the guy about his 71' motors
this wont be until may though but all is looking good
I was getting anxious enough to almost list my lesters and my #4 exhaust pipe as a last resort!
im sure after some more research and actual test fitting this will be complete and moving on

went out today to get the motor
super nice guy
grew up with 750's and sold his sandcast after he stopped riding
had alot of other 750 goodies there, another 750 parts engine
a chopper 750 with harley front
airbox stuff
a couple other motorcycles he had stashed in the back under covers but I think they were kawasaki by the look of the mag wheel not covered by the cloth it had that cross pattern look to it.
these motors dont get lighter do they
luckily he had a dolly and helped me get it in the car
