Eric...Ecklund is my main dealer. Located only a few miles from home. They have seen me there a lot in the last 20 years. They changed their name about a year ago to Hexco Motor Sports. They also sold me the lighted HONDA SERVICE sign a while back. They are good people there.
   I had a hunch you may have known that place.

Johnie, saw a listing on FB for a few GL1100 parts... Didn't know if any would fit or you needed. Shocks, wouldn't want as likely tired...but a rear rack might be nice...
In case you need to carry home some groceries or the like...
I like having a rack on my bikes.

Well, I'd probably try those air shocks and give them a try for free. The Progressives on my 76 are missing the hoses and one connection. They've been on here for 15,000 miles. I was thinking of going with coil overs as so many shocks have the air leak issue.

UPDATE: Today I got rid of the excess wiring harness and the cut wiring that was left over from the PO fairing. Now I have the basic male/female connections. First pic is before the work and 2nd pic is after. Now that purple and white wire will be discussed in my next post.

So the purple and white wire appear to be attached to some aftermarket stuff on the top right side of the case I can't ID. Maybe some of you GL guys can help me out. It is not in my HONDA service manual nor is it in any close up pics that I have seen on GL bikes for sale. The first pic (white wire) may be a water temp sensor, but I don't see it on other pics of same bike. The last pic (purple wire) is way low the case and may be the oil light, but again that would be on all of these GL bikes standard, but the for sale bikes I saw did not show that sensor? Check out the pics and see what you guys think? Maybe the fairing he had on here had warning lights, but the GL has its own oil light and temp gauge so that has me stumped. As noted in the previous post, I didn't cut those 2 wires up top in case I need to connect them somewhere. Thanks for scratching your head with me...

Th bottom picture can only be an oil temperature sending unit, screwed right into the sump. The top one is tougher. Is it just laying there?

Purple, white, and red look a bit too vivid and maybe added by a PO. Throw a set of calipers on the wire and measure the insulation diaper and compare to a stock wire. I bet you will find them to be a tiny bit larger in diameter.

The oil pressure gauge sender and oil warning light switch are in the one pic and I agree with John, the other sensor is likely your oil temp. Its proximity to the oil fill leads support to being oil temp.

Your shift mechanism for the bike is on the backside of the motor like the GL/CX 500 motors right?
Don’t think it would be a neutral switch would it. Can’t tell what part of the motor that is located.

Did you want any of those parts from the guy in MA?  There are a couple forum members near Boston whom might be persuaded to pick up the parts if still available and ship them to you for a bit of gas money and shipping costs.

Honda service manual doesn’t even list a purple wire for the bike. Actually that purple wire was in the fairing harness so maybe some type sensor for that? The unit on top of the case (white wire) is actually screwed into what looks like an oil sensor which has a blue wire with red stripe.

Did screenshots I showed of parts help? He has the trim pieces for the carbs, a front fender guard and the rear rack (looks like a KG) that needs new wood strips attached.

Raf...screenshots did show. I would also like those 2 trim pieces for the carbs. Mine have rust and might save me a trip to the chromer. Not familiar with the front  fender guard? Would that be in the mud flap area behind the front wheel? Who are the Boston members that might be willing to pick the stuff up? Should I contact them or are they your friends?

Not just laying there...it's screwed into the top of the case into what appears to be a single wire (blue/white stripe) sensor of some sort.

Fender guard is the chrome piece of tubular stuff the carb guards are between. Dresser type part that was a long outside of fender  that some bikes had. I'm guessing it is aftermarket part. He only posted the one photo of the parts with rear rack, shocks, carb covers and front fender guard.

I'm on FB, but would have to find the site as I think i have to join that forum to see it. Wouldn't want the fender guard. Just those 2 carb guards that are sitting in the middle of the fender guard.

The 'fender guard' is more of a decorative part that sits on top of the fender.
I had a customer that purchased the entire Markland trim package for his 1985 GL1200 Interstate;they have those same style decorative pieces on the top covers of the rear tail trunk and GW saddlebags.

Not just laying there...it's screwed into the top of the case into what appears to be a single wire (blue/white stripe) sensor of some sort.
Figured out the B/W wire unit is the oil pressure switch and it runs to the oil light on the dash. The round unit screwed to the back of it the oil pressure switch must be aftermarket as it does not show up on the schematic nor does the white wire connected to it. Looks to me like that unit can come out.
