Dual caliper brake options.
« on: April 02, 2023, 08:42:34 PM »
So finally got my bike out of storage after toasting the transmition. New gear set in but still need the clutch adjusted and the new carbs that have been sitting in a box for over a year (old ones won't stop pissing fuel). But I also managed to find a spoked 750f rear wheel so I will finally be getting my rear disk swap done but I would like to improve my forn breaking a bit. Dose anybody know of a dual piston swap that is workable on our bikes. I'm trying to avoid a gl front end but would be open to swaping the fork lowers from a f2 if that would get me better brakes while maintaining the look.

The F2 front end is closest to a bolt on swap, they also can fit dual piston calipers. a lot of guys have done the dual stock 750 brakes. I also hear the dual 550 discs and calipers are a nice setup, they bolt on and are lighter than 750 brakes.

There is an extensive thread somewhere here about using modern calipers on F2 forks.
