K8 Choke Cable Routing
« on: April 17, 2023, 02:40:41 PM »
See pics.  I don't know how to make them full pics in the text.

If this is the correct routing for this cable, then it is longer than it needs to be.  The cable pokes up into the fuel tank area.  It has been this way for a while with no issues, but I wonder if it is mis-routed.

This is how my K8 came to me last May, unfortunately I didn't get a picture of it routed under the tank to the carbs before I removed it and got a new cable, and the carbs are still off the bike.
Hope this helps as yours might need to slide towards the front,  maybe under the coils??
I added the arrows pointing to the choke cable.

Thank you.  That looks similar to my routing but....yes perhaps this cable should go under the center of the tank instead of along the leftmost of the three frame rails under the tank.

As an aside, my throttle cable are also against the leftmost frame rail which I assume is correct.  If so, then the pic of your bike omits the throttle cables.

I just finished replacing my throttle cables and the action is WAY better.  The carbs snap shut now.
