K0 needle clip
« on: May 10, 2023, 09:16:44 AM »
My K0 carbs are missing one of the butterfly needle clips, it shot into a different dimension and never re-surfaced. I've done magnet sweeps and high intensity flashlight searches, vacuum cleaner clean-outs and all that, to no avail.
Anyway, who sells a decent kit for the 4 cable carbs? I see 4into1 has a rebuild set for under a hundred but, no idea of the brand or quality.  I don't really need needles or jets, wouldn't mind having the top gaskets with the big hole though.

I'll check my carb box when I get to the shop and see if there is a needle clip for you Don. Heading up there now, just finished my burger 🍔.

I just used the kit from Yamiya for my K0. I've never bought one anywhere else but I liked theirs...

Well I thought I might have some K0 cabs in the box but they are all K2 and newer. Sorry.

i think I have one - is it black and it holds the needle with a c-clip in?  Yamia calls it needle retaining clip? Number 8 here:

Thanks, but no, it's shaped like a bow tie or a butterfly and only comes on the 4 cable carbs. I'm not usually the guy that gives up on finding something, but this one must be in the Twilight Zone. I don't mind buying a carb kit even if I make an art project out of the brass.

Sorry. It's been few years since I dealt with Dorothy's carburetors.

Don.... looked through my small carb bits today and sorry to report I don’t have an extra “butterfly”.
JamesH on this forum has just started making the correct rubber top gasket for the pull carb. He sells them along with manifold clamps and a few other bits. Truthfully I just take about a 5/8” gasket punch and knock the centre out of the later ones and that works fine too.
