Hello from Central Colorado
« on: May 16, 2023, 06:27:59 PM »
I have recently acquired a CB750K5 in pretty good shape.  Here in Colorado, I'm more of a dual sport and back mountain dirt and 4x4 road rider but couldn't resist when a CB, the dream bike of my childhood, came up for sale from a trusted friend.  I have enjoyed working on it and finally got it on the road last week.  I hope to gain a lot of information from all the experience here in the forum.

Welcome aboard the forum and the 750 Roger

Back in 1979 and 80 I lived in Breckenridge and rode around the state on weekends on my K6 with my hound dog. The picture was on a weekend in Palisade.

I live in Salida Colorado so I have access to some of the best paved and dirt roads the state has to offer just outside of town.  I ride bicycles quite frequently as well and once tried to get my dog to ride in a pack with me.  She would have no part of that and for sure doesn't want to get near any of my motorcycles!

I live in Salida Colorado

Lucky you Bighill. My CB and myself have been to Salida a time or two, in the summer. I have forgotten plenty but remember Monarch and Wolf Creek and the hot springs pool in town.

Yes Salida has some great riding. When I was in Breck, I went down the Arkansas River through Brown's Canyon in a 6 man raft with 3 friends, we had a blast. A couple more friends were in their kayaks. It was a day to remember.
On my cross country trips on my goldwing I usually spend 4-5 days riding the state.

Yes, those of you who have been to Salida Colorado, know that it is a special place and has some great riding nearby for both street and dirt.  If anyone is ever planning on passing through, just let me know and I can point you to some good restaurants and riding suggestions.  In the summer I can sit on my front porch and watch hundreds of bikes pass by my front door all day long or walk downtown and see them parked up and down the streets.  It is such a popular riding destination!
