Ok, had a lot of family stuff to do today, so only minimal work on the bike. I basically took care of the "loose ends," added oil (important!), valve clearances, cam chain tension, throttle cables, air filter, bled the front brake, tested the front brake lever switch, gapped and installed spark plugs.
I think all I have left is to install the exhaust and try to start it up!
About the throttle cables - I don't know what was wrong. I took it all apart, made sure all adjustments were loose as possible, the reattached the push cable first, then the pull. Everything installed as it should and I adjusted the slack from there. No idea what I was doing wrong yesterday! I still have shorter cables coming though, There is too much slack in the line.
Here are some photos of how she currently sits:
New modern brake master cylinder. Brake feels great after bleeding it. Excited to try it on the road.
Brake line has a horizontal S loop, I'm concerned about. I'm going to get a solid line from the MC to the caliper and bypass the switch. I'll create a jumper to use the lever's switch. I tested it with some alligator clips today and it works.
Big swoop out on the throttle cables.
The oil I'm using, along with 2oz of ZDDP:
Mark's new book, next to my Clymer manual!
