Speedometer and tach lube
« on: May 30, 2023, 09:07:57 AM »
I’ve spent a good amount of time trying to find the right lubricant for the speedometer and tach gears. I’ve got them apart, just waiting on new faces. What should I lube the gears with? Oh, k5 750. Thanks!!

Still no reply, so I’m still seeking info. As soon as the faces arrive, I’m putting them back together. Maybe 3 in 1 oil? Very light gu oil? Silicone spray lube? Thoughts? Thanks!!

I would vote no on 3:1 oil. Starrett makes a nice oil that a gunsmith buddy thought was similar to Singer Sewing machine oil. Looks like Amazon has it.
