Terry I have to say that MZ was a great little bike  -used it as a motorcycle courier in the summers and it just ran and ran. I took it up to the Scottish Highlands for my first long-distance camping trip. Had my first and second crash on that bike and minimal damage - never another crash since. Good memories! The CZ motocross bike was prob better

There was a guy at the swap meet last weekend trying to sell a minty MZ for $3500 AUD (around $2200 USD) and there were no takers. My work colleague loves his but I don’t think he’s ever ridden it, has just been collecting parts for it and waiting for me to restore it.

The CZ250 was a weapon, a local amateur racer beat Gary and Trevor Flood (then current Australian Motocross champions) on it. They were racing the latest and greatest Bultaco’s (before Yamaha and Suzuki got their sh1t together) and I remember pushing Gary Flood halfway around the circuit when he went through some water and his ignition crapped out.

well to revive this thread I had to revive my old jacket,the #$%* aluminium zipper had been crap for a year coming apart while riding ect so got a new nickle plated brass YKK zipper swapped out,so nice now great action to it,last ride it let go I had to wriggle out of it like a mental hospital escapee in a straight jacket and get it off over my head still half zipped up much to the amusement of onlookers,only 120 bucks Im happy.

Nice zoot! Looks like a solid job, too. I had the zipper replaced once in my jacket and it pulled out of the leather on the bottom 6" in a year. I put the next one in myself, by hand, over a long winter. It pays to have a solid zip.

 My favorite jacket has closet shrinkage again. It fit me for a while a few years ago but now it's small again. I just don't get it.

I’m happy that the warmer weather is slowly returning, I wore my 34 year old Stagg “Brando” jacket for the first time in 6 months or so last week when I took my Ducati out for a scoot. A few weeks prior Spotty, Tim (my youngest boy) and I went for a good ride to Heathcote for a pie.

Tim is wearing my 45 year old Mars jacket that I bought around the same time I bought my first K1 in 1980. It still fits me but is a better fit on Tim. I want another one so desperately, but I need a size 48 as the 46 is a bit tight across my shoulders.

Same leather jacket when I was 19 and just got my first motorcycle...I did my first long distance trip on that bike -camping trip to the Scottish highlands. I also used it for a motorcycle courier job, 2-stroke required  manual oil/gas mix. Great bike!

A guy I work with wants me to restore his old MZ and I can't understand why? I guess it's a sentimental thing, I'd still love another CZ 250 Motocross bike like I had in the early 70's.

I would not mind riding a CL175 Honda like I started out riding on in the late 70's but I will be honest that I really do not need one to own. That bike would run 80mph wide open and got 80 mpg. I started out riding it in the 40 acre farm field behind us when I was 14 or so and graduated to the road at 16 once I got a drivers license. I rode it one year until December 1st due to not having a car, found a used car on Dec 1. My dad had told me "when it starts snowing you are done riding the bike this year, and it snowed dec 1 that year.

terry is alive and well, he's been fooling with his GPz 1100, his second vmax and has finished the Z900 ( not KZ900, thats an american thing ) , he's also just acquired an XVZ1300 ( off me by chance, we did a swap, he got the XVZ and i got most of another CB750, which will become a 70's style street custom..eventually )

he's, this week i think, getting stuck into the 69 mach III, as well as maybe continuing work on the twin cam harley

and there are two swap meets on the next two weekends so who knows what other gems he'll find
