HONDA CB500 FOUR TANK PAINTING GUIDELINES/BLUEPRINTS
« on: March 06, 2024, 08:28:34 PM »
Hello fellow members!

This is a hard one. FUEL TANK PAINTING STRIPES/BLACK-COLOR BLUEPRINT/REFERENCE/RESOURCES for the HONDA CB500 Four 1972 :/

I have a great painter that is holding the painting of the tank from my Honda 500 Four 1972.
Until I can find any resource as guideline for the stripes layout that I can use as mask so the final result could be very close to the original

I'm aware there are decals sold on eBay, for a very expensive price. Though I decided to paint it.

I have found images that are hard to use to re-draw as they are low-res images.

Not sure if any of you share anything that could be helpful on my journey to have it done properly?

Anything helps, really!

Thanks!
Flavio

I have just painted my CB500 tank but I used a decal for the black and white stripe.
I have attached a picture of the decal instructions which gives the location of the decal / stripe on the tank, which might be of use to you.
It doesn't state exactly where the location points are on the tank but I assumed they match to the centre of the 4 holes that the tank badges locate in.
Hope that helps you.

Where did you get that decal, Jaytee?

As I understand it, body sets from Yamiya have painted features. They must have it all documented, they do a lot of them.
