Buckeye on board
« on: May 20, 2024, 09:45:04 AM »
Hey all... I just joined, live in Cincinnati, Ohio and have a jade green '73 Honda CB 500 Four K1 that I've had for "ages".  It still has its sissy bar, now sports historical tags and remains a hoot to ride.
Anyway, the instrument lights et al died the other day when I pressed the starter button AND the main fuse and battery are both still good so I'm here to figure out what the heck is going on and will post a question to that effect.
I've already downloaded and printed the electrical system to help and all I can say is, "What a great resource this Club is!"

Welcome aboard the forum Mark from NH.
You need to test the battery 1st. It might have an internal short that fails when a load(starter) gets applied. Or a loose connection.

Welcome to the fun.

Grounds coming loose or corroded has caused many head scratches.
