Fortunately at the moment this billis only what's known as a 'Privte Members Bill' and 95+% of them fallby the wayside well before they stand a chance of becoming law. The problems will begin if when) one of the major parties sees it as a bandwagon worth riding

The nice part is it would be State by State over here so we can mount a campaign against it. Over there everything is centralized, so it craps up the whole country at once.

You let it up, and wait for reactions from the public. If the UK MC-lobby is anything like ours. This balloon will be shut down quickly.

We had a guy who wanted to install safety belts on a MC a few years ago. That also was shot down in the balloon stage.

In a similar vein, this is the kind of crap that gun owners have to deal with ALL the TIME!
Idiot politicians who know nothing about that which they legislate, trying to write a feel-good law. and the consequences wind up making a bunch of legal, recreational uses of said item illegal. banning racing motorcycles because they have no number plate (not because they go too fast) is like banning military "style" weapons because they look scary (not becasue they shoot select fire).

You know what pisses me off even more than the fact that this went to a vote

115 ayes plus 18 nays equals 133 votes. The House of Commons has 646 sitting MPs all on a minimum salary of £60,000 plus ex's, which means 513 members couldn't even be bothered to turn up to work and represent their constituents that day

Imagine how long a private company would last if nearly 80% of the workforce didn't turn in on a regular basis

I was pleased to note however that my MP was one of the 18
