Every ride is a test ride….
Every ride is a parade….

Kevin….. I think that should be a bumper sticker or a plaque!

Every ride is a test ride….
Every ride is a parade….

It’s 55 years old
100,000+ miles

I found my original plate deep in a desk drawer
It has been on my CB for many years without issue

Completed front brake bleeding and on to the next task... routing and attaching main wire harness.
I see that in this state you can also use your original plate and that will be my plan too.
I agree with John...that statement should be a bumper sticker.

Yes, I wonder how any representative of law enforcement could dispute that I'm out for anything other than a test ride. Even if my wife is with me, we would be testing two up engine and frame and suspension performance. Oh, and rider performance!

I have a 1972 plate and tab on my 72' MGB GT. I'm supposed to keep the last modern plate in the car according to one officer.

Thanks, I'm not the original owner. I bought it in 06' and it was pretty run down. It's got some rust that needs to be fixed but it's been one of my most reliable cars. I put an interior in it, rebuilt the suspension and brakes, installed an aluminum head and a recored radiator with a premium core. We also have a 71' and I have two rebuilt motors that need to be assembled. They are hot rodded with ported big valve heads, lightened rods, bored .060" over and be about 10 to 1 compression. Hopefully they will be built soon, cancer treatments have been getting in the way.

Clutch, carbs, and throttle cables installed and adjusted.
I fit checked the fuel tank and noticed that when rolling onto full throttle that the tops of the carbs raise-up high enough to touch the bottom of the fuel tank.  I don't remember that occurring in the past, but it has been a long time since I done this.
Is there any common mistaken that I may have made when re-installing the carbs with new Honda manifolds resulting in this issue?

Now to remember how the fuel lines were originally routed.

You have the carbs too high in the intake. Loosen the clamps and level the carbs, put the airbox on, then tighten all the clamps so the carbs set level.

You might find the airbox won’t line up on the frame tabs either? Try rotating the intake manifolds so the carbs are not angling up so much.
