Stev-o - I know what you mean; I think it looks pretty wild, having never seen such a small King/Queen seat on a little 500, but it's too small for me, I'm going to try to find a Honda bench seat like the original - but a general question is, do I need to find another manual for it? I'm not sure how to go about disassembling it with that light on the steering stem, if there's any special way it comes out, how it's powered, etc.
I have a rider condition K0 500 seat in my stash that is available. I picked it up in a parts lot purchase last year. There is a little scuff/scratch near the front of the seat top center embossed panel(last picture), but the rest of the cover is decent, it has the latch hook and the hinge, it is missing one of the round rubber bumpers near the hinge.
I'm in southern NH. You can have it for $175 plus shipping. (The pictures are of it sitting on one of my 750s for reference)

BTW you can use a US service manual for you JDM bike.
The red speed warning light has a connection under the lower tree where the wire comes out to disconnect before unscrewing the cap nut that the light is mounted on.

I appreciate that, but right now I've got a '72 500/4 up on the table, getting ready to take that apart, plus I've got a 350/4 that needs reassembling as well, all hopefully before it gets too cold to work in the garage. I will keep you in mind though, thanks!

Super cool find! And seems like lots of history. Will be a nice project to finish. Have fun!

So I missed this sticker before.
It looks like it may be the dealership information.
The bottom line is the phone number followed by "representative".
The line above that may be the address.
Google translate might be able to make out more with a better image.
Or maybe someone who reads Japanese can make it out.

Many thanks for the JDM speed warning information.  I just checked and my JDM CB550 is missing the actual tag but there is a small rectangular flat area  where the tag once was.  I would have never noticed it.

I remember in some countries in SE Asia you had devices to prevent people from speeding. In Malaysia, if I remember well, all commercial vehicles had an orange lamp on top. If they we're going about the maximum speed the lamp would start to blink and if they were going too fast for too long the lamp would stay on drawing the attention of the cops alongside the road.
Although I've never witnessed it myself, I've heard of another country (could be Japan that I've never travelled) where horns would sound automatically and that they could only be switched of by a officer (with a special key) who ofcourse would write out a ticket at the occasion.

I could just imagine how many blaring horns and flashing lights we would have here! Speed limit signs are just suggestions on Maui, so is current registration and safety inspection. Insurance too. Even stop lights, the popular expression is "chance em".

Wow! I can think of many things you could with it.
1. Jiffy out warning
2. Oil pressure warning light
3. Overheating warning.
With a couple of diodes you could even double or triple its warning function.
But speed warning... no thank you!
