The cylinder block Japauto made  can hopefully be bored a little more for fresh pistons. Or new sleeves to order. Dynoman might make.
Bid now is not much.... Head must be ported?

Well, it certainly does not look anything like what the kids think a cafe racer looks like today. For one, both the original posting and Scottly's have not had everything behind the carbs eliminated or reduced to cartoonishly tiny proportions.  This bike may be so strange looking to Americans, as the number of us who even knew of the existence of such exotica is dwindling every year...you really are not gonna find one of those here in the States.  That exhaust?  Fascinating.  Am I just seeing a Supertrapp jambed into the outlet of a square megaphone?

If it works good, it looks good...

To be fair, there is literally nothing directly behind the carbs -- stacks, pods, anything. Now if only it had a skateboard for a seat.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too...not sure, but the Japauto 1000 engine package may have included revised gearbox ratio's

Japauto was a French Honda importer and dealer, and the CB1000 Japauto was a custom-built motorcycle. Japauto produced a 970cc street model based on the Honda CB750 endurance racing bike

A bit of reading on what Japauto came from and on their history....

Hmm that is an interesting idea.

https://novaracing.co.uk/honda-cb750-close-ratio-gearbox

In budget dirt circle track race cars they would run things like a 3 speed trans in second gear which was a really inexpensive combination that worked well with what were fairly common rear end ratios.

I often miss a 6th gear on my CB750 K6.
Prefer 17:48 sprockets. Even a small difference as 18:48 is a downgrade of fun.
Tire 130/80-18.
A rebuild kit getting a 6th gear would be something.

Some of our roads are 70mph on the signs and traffic runs 80, more final gear reduction might be good for that stuff.

The thing the modern cafe guys miss out on is individuality, the original specials were built to the owners' preferences and varied greatly from one bike to the next, no ubiquitous frame loops, header wrap and off road tyres. Check out all the Seeleys on the old Register page and see how unique every one was

Yes that fits, sadly we lost Axl in 2009, he created that site & it's been frozen ever since
