Screw size for signal light lenses
« on: January 15, 2025, 07:24:27 AM »
Does anyone know the metric size/pitch for those tiny fine threaded screws that hold signal lenses on many of the SOHC Honda?  They are always rusty and/or stripped so I'm hoping to just do a bulk buy of some small stainless ones and always have a drawer full instead of scrounging my parts hoard.

I know DSS has them but they don't list the size/pitch.

In particular any of the smaller lenses. So pre 77/78 models for the most part on 550 or 750.  I think the larger lenses take a bigger screw.

Yes, M3 is the same as 3 x 25, so M3 x 25mm. Don't forget they are countersunk, raised countersunk to be exact. I replace all mine with stainless so they don't rust in the cross in the head and strip just when you go to remove them.

Don’t forget a little grease on the threads when installing, especially if you’re going the stainless route.

and if you want some stress in your life, get some aftermarket indicators that have those $hitty self tapper screws in them, then try and tap the plastic bodies to take an M4 thread

Haha.  Nope. I’ve got overflowing milk crates of signals in stock. That aftermarket stuff looks way too shiny for me.
