Videos or blogging
« on: January 24, 2025, 02:54:13 PM »
I've been watching Wheels through time videos and wondered if anyone has any experience with making video?  They are using an insta 360 X4 camera with an invisible selfie stick. I wondered how they make the videos that look like a drone is flying alongside the bike, it's that camera with the invisible stick mounted to the handlebars.
Hackaweek is OK, but I'd love to see a real time Honda teardown and/or get an old turd running video.

Don check out 2Vintage channel on you tube...a new old turd almost every week.  He's a young kid and has the the fuel-spark-compression triangle wired up tight!  Just about all motovloggers use those Insta360 camera's now.  Most find them a much better experience than the undependable GoPro's.  The camera uses propietary software to digitally edit the selfie stick out of the picture along with lots of other special effects available.
If it works good, it looks good...

Itchy=Boots has me hooked. She uses some cool techniques too, all on her own.

My daughter got me a go pro a couple years ago, it came with a turd battery, and it took me forever to realize that it didn't work because of the battery, not my stupidity and lack of tech savvy. I got a pair of new batteries but by then she re-possessed it.
We got some good video at the drag strip but now NHRA says you can't aim it at your competition. Facing rearwards makes an awesome view when the starting line disappears. I want to watch the rear shocks and slicks when they expand at speed.

Now I'm hooked watching her. Going through the middle east takes some guts.

Don….. I’ve been watching for a few seasons. Also went back and started at season one, working my way through season two… biggest surprise is my wife enjoys watching too. As much a “travelogue” as bike show…..

I loved the Road Cop in Africa that told her "give me money" she smiled and said, you give me money. The bad cop smiled and said "well played"  Their barricade was a stump and some sticks, it didn't look real official to me.

I've been a supporter of Grind Hard Plumbing Company for a while.
They got a dedicated video guy a couple years back who was good with a drone and knew a few track tricks for cameras.

For my own devices.  A gopro and the smart phone did what was needed.
If i was going to buy another camera.  Would consider the 360.  Since i like the set it and forget it method.  Especially while riding.
