spark

evening,

yesterday, I spliced new plug wire on to my #4 and 1 coil leads, to make a complete set that have had their original wires replaced. After the change I ran the bike for about five minutes and put it away. today, I was working on a stop for my center stand so it wouldn't interfere with the chain. when I was done, out we roll from the garage to have our little 5 minute run. It takes forever to start and when it finally does, it sounds horrible. I feel the pipes and #'s 4 and three are cold. one and two are hot. I pulled the #4 plug and it is, as expected, wet.

the plug wires at the coils are the original. they've been bent into a "u" turn on both coils.
any suggestions? time for new coils?

Did you confirmed that the plugs don't spark across the gaps?

Did you swap plugs 1&4 to see if the problem follows the plug or remains with the wires?

Are the plugs fouled?

If you don't feel comfortable with your wire splicing and can't figure a way to correct it, seems like replacement coils are indicated,
