Topic: Cheap Koito H4 Headlamp

  The windjammer headlight changes out so fast with no tools I might try to find a wall to compare light patterns with. I took out a Swedish Bosch lens with an unknown heritage H4 bulb that won my pre-Sturgis trip bulb/lens test a few years ago.
  The Koito practically fell into place once I remembered the push tab on the bottom of the windjammer headlight ring. I think I can swap lights in well under a minute.

I didn't know you could do that quick change on the Vetters. I thought you had to unscrew it on my IV and V series. Which series is yours?
Do you have pictures of doing it?

  I think it might be an SS Windjammer, it's paint matched to a 78 GL1000 so I'd guess it came out of the dealership with it. There's a plastic tab on the bottom, when it goes back, you turn the ring until the tabs line up to the slots. It just pulls off then.
  I'll get a picture of it. It even has a headlight height adjuster behind the windshield.
  When the ring gets on the lock it sounds like a big zip tie.

Yes Don I think you must have the SS, definitely different mounting than mine have.

 I did a lap through the neighborhood, it needs a minute to get the voltage up. I'd say the koito is as good as the Bosch. I'd need to get on the blacktop to know for sure which one is best.
 I just realized the windjammer lettering is absent on this one. The PO must have peeled it off. It's a good time of year for the lowers.
 The radio blocks the headlight knob, I have to stop, get off and turn the bars to lock so I can reach in there to turn the dial.
