Picked up a '78 750F SS
« on: April 29, 2025, 05:33:08 AM »
Not my first SOHC/4, previously owned a '78 550K and '80 650C, but psyched to have picked up a '78 750F SS. It's mostly unmolested, but someone has used a rattle can to touch up the black paint, which in turn locked up the oil filter bolt, leading to a mangled nut head. Beyond that it's the usual ailments of a bike that has been sitting for 10 years: dead battery, gummed carbs, frozen slides, old tires, rusted tank, surface rust on chrome, etc.

I've rescued 30+ old bikes, but have new questions and learn something every time. Thanks in advance for any help

That's in nice condition!
What's your plan for it?
See SOHC4shop.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

My plan is to make it roadworthy and then ride it. It won't be a show bike, but I'll keep it as original as practical.
