Honda CB360
« on: May 04, 2025, 06:53:05 AM »
One of the five Honda's I had growing up in the 70's was my 1974 360. I've mentioned before that I've looked and looked over the years for at least one photo of it to post here on the forum but have always come up empty handy. Well no more, back than my sister's boyfriend and now husband and a retired 3 star admiral had took a picture of it and me that he had put in a photo album that I found recently. Now if I could find a pic of my 1976 CB550 all my Honda's would be accounted for ;D

Many people long for their old bikes, makes you wonder why we ever got rid of them.

dHall, I had that exact color cb360!  Not my first bike, but the first I was able to put real miles on and actually learned to ride on.

I got to rebuild the engine for one (about 5 years ago) that was the twin to yours!
They were terrific "on campus" bikes, and the kids would ride them home (across IL, usually) for the weekends.

Mine was pretty happy at 70mph, had it close to the ton a few times.  Super flickable and the 6 speed gearbox was fun.

I restored that same bike same color maybe 10 years ago. HM had a recall on the cam chain adjuster and that recall was still in force so my dealer changed it out for me.

That recall is a super easy mod and is done with the engine in the frame and minimal top end disassembly.  Can't remember the details...you replace part of the chain guide if I remember correctly.  I don't know if the part is still available.
If it works good, it looks good...

Yah, it took a bit for HM to find the parts. Pretty cool they honored that recall so many years later.

??? I had forgot all about that recall, hey it's only been 50 plus years ago. But i remember now taking it into the dealership to get that done. I really liked the  Honda CB350 and had planned on getting one but the 360 came out in 1974 so I got it instead. It was not the fastest bike around but it was dependable and never gave me any trouble. Rode it to school my last two years of high school. A friend had a Kaw 400 triple 2 stroke and of course I couldn't keep up with it in a stop light to stop light race. Here is a short little film (click on it) that Lee Hinshaw (he is the friend who had the 400 Kaw) took in the school parking lot of the bikes that were rode to school. Look real close and you can see a couple quick shots of my gas tank of my CB360.  https://www.facebook.com/lee.h.hinshaw/videos/10154009393387388/?t=12

Well here is a blowed up view of a blonde near the end of the video. She is June Stafford, always thought she was cute.
