Can my master cylinder be saved?
« on: September 16, 2025, 07:10:06 PM »
As my friend Forest Gump would say, stupid is what stupid does isn’t it? I made great progress today reassembling & emptying a bin & a couple more boxes! I was ending doing new levers from yamiya & the m/c side was very tight & not returning properly so I tried tweaking the slot a tad, felt a bit better so I went again & F#*k! Is it possible to heli arc or weld to repair or is it trashed? And….is so, anybody got one?

That one is pretty much done.  :(

Fortunately aftermarket replacements are available and not terribly expensive.

I think CycleRanger is correct.  The cost to repair properly and safely far exceeds the cost to replace.  either get a new aftermarket one or used one off Ebay and rebuild that.  Rebuilding a MC is not hard.  Just be sure the used MC has a clean bore and is not pitted.

not returning smoothly is likely caused by the center pivot bolt
Get a new one
