Speedo gearbox front wheel 750K1

Hi folks, my speedo, recently refurbished by a reputable guy, only registers about 25mph max even though I'm travelling much faster.
I've confirmed that the speedo is OK by using a high speed drill.  So, it appears that the gearbox in the front wheel is at fault.  I've replaced the drive cable with the correct item BTW!
Can these be repaired, or do I need to reach out to anyone that may have one no longer required?
All the regular mobs (CMS, DSS, Yamiya etc.) no longer have them...."discontinued".  The part nbr is 44800-300-030.

Does your speedometer move smoothly up to the 25mph, or does it jump around a lot? The speedometer drive gear at the front wheel seems like an odd thing to break. It should be an easy thing to inspect for damage. Have you had it off the bike to look for chewed up gears?

When you "replaced the drive cable" did you just replace the inner cable or did you replace the outer sheath also?
The reason I ask, the outer sheath has regular steel coils that when rust starts inside, the coils swell(cancer) and squeeze the inner cable binding it, in worse case, cause the inner to snap.

As far as i know all 750 spoked wheels and 500/550 spoked wheels use the same part so there should be loads out there
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

It may be the gear box retainer.  The inner ring is held in place by a rubber compound.  When I rebuilt my GL1000 the inner ring was loose.  (Basically, the same part for the750) If the rubber is broken down it will affect the spedo.  In my case the inner ring was able to back out enough so the drive didn't engage and spedo didn't move. These parts are not cheap ($85 at CMSNL) What I did was thoroughly clean outer and inner rings and used windshield Urethane to reset the inner ring.  Works fine now.  See attached as to what the part looks like.

...are You really sure, that it isn't the speedo itself ?
It sounds to me that the speedo mecanic is gummed/glued up with the oil and at the point You reach 25 mph it can go on and will stay at 25mph. How many rpm does your high speed drill ?
